The Granary has been meticulously enlarged to create a beautifully appointed, traditional stone building in the small secluded hamlet of Dalton. Although we enjoy a private and rural aspect, Newcastle centre is only 20 minutes away and Ponteland and Newcastle Airport are only a 10 minute drive. Also within a similar distance are the Roman Wall and the main A1 route north or south.
Ponteland has very good restaurants, Inns and traditional Pubs and elegant Matfen Hall is only two villages away with picturesque Stamfordham in between. With so much convenient to our location we are sure many guests will wish to stay a few days – also with Newcastle Airport being so close it is an ideal spot to leave a car and be chauffeured to and from your flight times.
Two minutes from the Newcastle airport is a park and ride station to access the metro which travels into the heart of Newcastle and surrounding areas.
We have two beautifully decorated and prepared bedrooms with king size beds and luxury en-suite shower rooms. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in the rooms along with those other little touches to make your stay comfortable and relaxing.
Breakfast is served in the dining room where patio doors overlook the garden with the same views available from the very comfortable guest lounge.
The Granary Bed and Breakfast is really very convenient for Newcastle whether you are visiting to attend an event, to take advantage of the huge variation of shopping opportunities or for business reasons.
Newcastle upon Tyne is a vibrant university city – with its twin city, Gateshead, it was a major shipbuilding and manufacturing hub during the Industrial Revolution and is now a centre of business, arts and sciences. Spanning the Tyne, modern Gateshead Millennium Bridge, noted for its unique tilting aperture, is a symbol of the 2 cities.
